From Africa to Sri Lanka…We arrived late so got picked up from the airport and dozed for the next 3hrs while driving to our homestay in Midigama. If you fly in at a normal hour jump on the train for $2 🙂 We stayed with an incredibly nice family in their house right opposite the infamous (amongst Sri Lankan surfing tourists) Lazy Left Point break.
5 weeks in Morocco. Arrived with zero expectations which is possibly one of the most important things travelling has taught us! Flying into Marrakech was so cool, sorta felt like flying into the Pilbara in West Aus haha, and the last thing I expected to see was the HUGE mountain range framing Marrakech!
Oh Portugal, you gorgeous thang! 6 and a half weeks wizzed by way too fast. We got a bla bla car that picked us up in France and dropped us off in Lisbon to pick up our campervan at the start of August! **Sorry for the late post! It’s been ready to go for 2 weeks but we haven’t had decent wifi to upload all the pics, it should’ve been ready yesterday and then I went and smashed my head and spent the afternoon at the hospital. Yay. I’m all good, terrifying ordeal, couple of stitches, few nasty bruises but it could’ve been much worse!** Continue Reading
Bonjour 🙂 We have just spent the past 5 weeks kicking back in Southwest France at an epic Surf Lodge in Vieux Boucau. Such a rad time! We have both been to Paris before so didn’t feel the need to re-visit, choosing to spend our time oceanside instead 😀 *Sidenote: A few pictures were courtesy of the media team that stayed for a week-merci beacoup! The dodgy/fuzzy looking pics are taken by an iphone most likely in control of someone under the influence of wine*
From Wales we got the ferry to Ireland, it was a perfectly calm day for boating (yay!) and we were over the sea in just a few hours. The ferry departed from Fishguard and arrived in Rosslare where we got a bus to Dublin (via Wexford). Jumped on a bus the next morning and got to Bundoran on the West Coast to spend the next few days at Bundoran Surf Co. Continue Reading
We didn’t really have a great camera for the majority of our time in Perth but we did get to do a lot of exploring. We went up to Kalbarri and down to Albany and many places in between. But barely scratched the surface of this huge state!
A few snaps of surfing the Surfing Perth, the wild West Coast of Australia…It very rarely gets good and is always ridiculously crowded here. Generally you can find some surf most weekends. We had one weekend of incredible waves at Trigg Beach (A smidge north of Scarborough).
Stand up Paddle Boarding in Cottesloe with mi muchacha. We hired 2 boards from the North Fremantle Board Store- $35 each for 24hrs (By far the cheapest around!!) and headed to Cottesloe to give it a go… The wind picked up pretty early but we got a feel for it and caught a few tiny waves, yew! Rottnest Island is super easily accessible from Perth, the ferry runs daily and a return ticket is about $80ish. It’s a really great little getaway from Perth and only a short distance. The island is 19 km² and there are no cars on it so you hire bicycles (or bring your own) and cycle around! Continue Reading
Good morning Vietnam! We spent 2 weeks exploring the country in October 2014. Return fares with Tiger from Perth to Saigon via Singapore were just over $400 return each…That’s cheaper than an interstate flight in Australia.
